Cardinals add a much needed infielder while moving an expendable starter. They also add a defensive backup on the outfield for moving two starting outfielders. Young LF Taveras will now have the opportunity to start. Cubs bolster a weak rotation and moving Castro allows for the Cubs to begin developing their young infielders. Although teams are in same division, we each benefit from a trade which would have happened whether between us or to other teams.
